In tenant fit-outs, the opening date is usually the main focus. In reality, however, that date is the result of many decisions made long before the actual works begin. Without clearly defined processes, responsibilities, and dependencies from the start, even a well-prepared project can quickly turn into a chain of additional questions, documentation changes, and schedule delays.<\/p>\n\n

Tenant coordination is therefore not just about exchanging documents and reviewing drawings. Its role is to manage the entire process so that everyone involved works with the same information, understands their responsibilities, and knows when a specific decision needs to be made.<\/p>\n\n

In practice, tenant coordination involves many parties: the landlord, the tenant, the tenant\u2019s project team, the architect, designers, the client\u2019s technical supervisor, the contractor, and the centre management team. Each part is responsible for a different part of the project, but their work needs to connect precisely. This is where the tenant coordinator plays a key role\u2014maintaining oversight of the process, tracking key milestones, and helping identify issues early that could affect the schedule or the feasibility of the design.<\/p>\n\n

Well-managed coordination is especially important in shopping centre environments, where tenant requirements need to be aligned with the building\u2019s technical, operational, and safety rules. It is not only about preparing the unit for construction. It is about making sure the entire process works during delivery and leads to a smooth handover of the space.<\/p>\n\n

We applied this approach when supporting the preparation of the new YES Jewellery<\/a> store at Westfield Chodov<\/a>. The goal was to ensure smooth cooperation between all parties involved and create the conditions for a well-managed preparation process and subsequent fit-out.<\/p>\n\n
